The to-do list app for Android that works with Share

Took a screenshot, found a link, got a PDF? Tap “Share” and pick Todowa – it becomes a task in your inbox, with the image or file attached. Do the rest when you have time: set a date, file it, tick it off.

Share → Todowa: how everything becomes a task

Once Todowa is installed on your phone, it shows up in Android’s share menu – next to your messenger, email and Drive. Whatever you share to it, Todowa creates as a task right away and opens it. Nothing to retype, nothing to sort.

What becomes what:

  • Screenshot or photo: a task “Screenshot from 26/10, 09:15” with the image attached
  • Link from Chrome or another app: the page title as the title, the link in the description
  • Text, say from a chat: the first line as the title, the rest as the description
  • PDFs and other files up to 100 MB: the file name as the title, the file attached
  • Several screenshots or files at once: one task with all of them attached

Set up in a minute

You don’t need an app from the Play Store. You install Todowa straight from Chrome:

  • Open todowa.com in Chrome and sign in
  • Menu ⋮ → “Install app” (on some phones “Add to Home screen”)
  • Open Todowa once from the new icon
  • From now on Todowa is in the share menu. On many phones you can pin it to the top with a long press.

What happens after you share

The new task opens right away. Change the title, set a date or add it to a project – or just leave it. It’s assigned to you and sits without a date in the inbox at the top of “My tasks” until you get to it.

No signal? The shared content stays on your phone and Todowa creates the task as soon as you’re back online. Not signed in? Sign in first and the task is created on its own.

The inbox

More than a list on your phone

Todowa is built for your thumb, not just your computer:

  • Reminders as notifications – on your phone and, through your phone, on a Wear OS watch
  • Swipe right to favourite, left to move to the backlog or delete
  • Long-press to select several tasks and change them together
  • Voice input: tap the plus, say what needs doing – the AI creates tasks or events
  • A calendar with your tasks and events from Google, Apple or Outlook alongside
  • Offline: the lists you loaded last stay readable, new tasks are sent later

Carry on at your computer, with your other tools

With the same account you carry on in the browser on your computer: what you shared from your phone is already in the inbox. If you like, Todowa syncs your tasks with Asana, Notion, Todoist, Monday.com and Google Tasks – and emails you forward to your Todowa address become tasks too.

Why we’re building Todowa

Your tasks belong to you – not to your tools.

Tasks are spread across many tools, and none of them sees the whole picture. We’re building Todowa as an AI-first to-do system that fits into the ones you already use: tasks show up in your Notion database, in Asana, in Todoist and in Google Calendar, and AI matches up what belongs together.

Our goal for Todowa

What Todowa can’t do on Android yet

So you know what you’re getting:

  • No app in the Play Store: you install Todowa through Chrome.
  • Sharing only works with the installed app, not from a normal browser tab.
  • Right after installing, the very first share can get lost. Just share again.
  • Todowa doesn’t read the text in a screenshot; you type a better title yourself.
  • Images are scaled down to at most 2048 pixels on the longest side. Very large images (over 30 MB) and formats the browser can’t read are attached as files.
  • There’s no “Share to Todowa” on the iPhone: Apple doesn’t let web apps into the share menu. Use “Mail to Todowa” there.

Frequently asked questions

Is Todowa in the Play Store?

Not yet. You install Todowa from Chrome (menu ⋮ → “Install app”). After that it behaves like an app: its own icon, its own window, notifications and an entry in the share menu.

Why is Todowa missing from my share menu?

Todowa only appears there as an installed app. Install it through Chrome and open it once from the icon on your home screen. A normal browser tab with todowa.com isn’t enough.

Where does the shared task go?

Into your inbox at the top of “My tasks” – without a date, assigned to you. It opens right after sharing so you can schedule it straight away.

Can I share several screenshots at once?

Yes. All images or files you share together are attached to one task.

Does sharing cost anything?

No, it’s included in every plan. Attachments count towards your storage: 1 GB free, 10 GB with Todowa Pro.

Does this work on the iPhone?

No, Apple doesn’t let web apps into the share menu. On the iPhone, forward screenshots and links by email to your Todowa address instead.
