Reminder app

The reminder app that already knows your tasks

Todowa reminds you of what’s coming up: tasks with a due date and the events from your calendars. The reminder arrives as a notification on your phone, your computer and – through your phone – your Android watch. Set how far ahead once, and it applies to every task from then on.

Reminders where your tasks already are

A separate reminder app next to your to-do list means entering everything twice. In Todowa, the reminder belongs to the task. Give a task a due date and Todowa reminds you of it – no extra reminder to set up.

What Todowa reminds you of:

  • Tasks with a due date that you’re responsible for – including every occurrence of a recurring task
  • Events from subscribed calendars (Google, Apple, Outlook) and from connected Google Calendar
  • All-day items on the day itself, at a time you choose – tasks without a time and all-day events

When you’re reminded: set it once, get reminded several times

Under Settings → Notifications you pick the lead times for anything with a time – as many as you like: at the time of the event, 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes, 1 or 2 hours or one day before. If you change nothing, it’s 10 minutes.

For all-day items, Todowa reminds you on the day at a fixed time, say 7 or 8 am, or not at all. Tasks and calendar events can be switched on and off separately.

The notification shows the title, the time and how long is left, for example “in 10 min · 14:00”. Tap it and the task opens in Todowa – for a calendar event, the calendar.

On your Android phone and Wear OS watch

On an Android phone, open Todowa in Chrome or as the installed app and tap “Turn on for this device” under Settings → Notifications. From then on, reminders arrive like those of any other app.

A Wear OS smartwatch shows your phone’s notifications – Todowa’s included. There’s no separate watch app, and you don’t need one. If reminders don’t show up on the watch, check the notification settings in the watch’s companion app on your phone.

On your iPhone: via the home screen

Apple only allows notifications from web apps that are on the home screen – from iOS 16.4. Here’s how to set it up:

  • Open todowa.com in Safari and sign in
  • Share → “Add to Home Screen”
  • Open Todowa from the home screen
  • Settings → Notifications → “Turn on for this device” and allow

On your computer and on several devices

On a computer you turn on reminders in the browser the same way. They arrive as long as the browser is running. Each device is added separately; a reminder then goes to all devices that are switched on.

“Devices” lists where reminders arrive. Remove a device you no longer use with one click. “Send test” checks that everything works.

How Todowa works

Why we’re building Todowa

Your tasks belong to you – not to your tools.

Tasks are spread across many tools, and none of them sees the whole picture. We’re building Todowa as an AI-first to-do system that fits into the ones you already use: tasks show up in your Notion database, in Asana, in Todoist and in Google Calendar, and AI matches up what belongs together.

Our goal for Todowa

What Todowa can’t do with reminders yet

So you know what you’re getting:

  • No custom reminder time per task: your account’s lead times apply to all tasks.
  • No email reminders, only notifications on your device.
  • No reminders for tasks someone else is responsible for.
  • No separate watch app: the Wear OS watch shows what your phone receives.

Frequently asked questions

Is Todowa a free reminder app?

Yes. Reminders are included in every plan, including the free one.

Do I need an app from the App Store or Play Store?

No. Todowa runs in the browser and can be installed on your phone like an app. On an iPhone, reminders only arrive if Todowa is on the home screen (iOS 16.4 or later).

Do reminders work on a smartwatch?

On a Wear OS watch, yes: it shows the notifications of your Android phone. An Apple Watch usually shows iPhone notifications too; we haven’t tested that with Todowa yet.

Can I set a custom reminder for a single task?

Not yet. Lead times apply to all tasks in your account; you can choose several, though – for example one day and 10 minutes before.

Does Todowa send reminders by email?

No, reminders only arrive as notifications on your phone, computer or watch.

Does Todowa remind me of events from my calendar?

Yes, of events from the calendars you’ve subscribed to under Settings → Calendar and from connected Google Calendar. Calendar events can be switched off separately from tasks.
